A popular, free, family-friendly swimming and picnic area, Stoughton Pond is maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. The North Branch of the Black River enters from the north; the outfall chute below joins with the main stem of the Black River before entering the North Springfield Reservoir, a flood control facility built and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. While the reservoir is an excellent venue for paddling and wildlife viewing, Stoughton Pond is the swimming area of choice for many area residents and local visitors.

How Do I Get There?
Coming from Springfield: look for Reservoir Road off Route 106 (River Street); follow until you see the pond on the right. Parking access is on the right, just after you cross over the earthen dam which creates the pond.
Coming from Weathersfield: look for Stoughton Pond Road off Route 106 on the left just after the bridge; follow until you see the pond ahead and on the left -- you'll see the entrance to the parking area on the left just before the pond.
