Wethersfield Cove is a popular recreation area, hosting boaters, anglers and those coming to enjoy the river and cove from foot, bicycle or chair. The cove was originally an oxbow in the Connecticut River and is now a natural inlet. Sampling is taken by a volunteer of the Connecticut River Conservancy and the analysis is done by the local USGS agency.
